The Civil Aeronautics Administration announced that booking for domestic outlying island controlled routes during the 2015 Double Ten holiday consecutive break will open uniformly starting at 8:00 a.m. on August 10. This year’s Double Ten holiday consecutive break runs from October 9 to October 11. Based on past passenger demand patterns, this air transport period will run from October 8 to October 12 (Monday), totaling five days.

The Civil Aeronautics Administration stated that this holiday will continue to focus on air travel demand for outlying islands such as Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, where demand is higher, and these routes have been included as controlled routes, with bookings opening uniformly starting at 8:00 a.m. on August 10.

In terms of capacity provision, airlines have planned a total of 504 flights for the Penghu route (including Qimei and Wang’an, excluding the Magong–Kinmen route), offering 43,374 seats; 510 flights for the Kinmen route, offering 47,562 seats; and 90 flights for the Matsu route, offering 6,090 seats. These three outlying island routes together will provide 1,104 flights and 97,026 seats, with additional flights to be added as needed based on future demand.

The Double Ten holiday consecutive break will follow the practices of the Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, and Dragon Boat Festival periods. For peak periods — from October 8 to 10 for flights from Taiwan to the outlying islands, and from October 10 to 12 for return flights from the outlying islands to Taiwan — tickets will be marked with usage restrictions stating “valid for the flight on the day of issue only” and “void if not used on the designated date.” Passengers are reminded that if they are unable to take their originally scheduled flight, they must notify the airline to cancel the booking before the flight departs, and process ticket refunds at the original point of purchase in accordance with the original ticket regulations, in order to protect their own rights.
