TransAsia Airways launches across-the-board promotional fares for outlying island routes

TransAsia Airways announced that from February 14 to April 15, it will introduce unified promotional fares for outlying island routes, including daily flights such as seven round-trips between Taipei and Kinmen, four round-trips between Kaohsiung and Kinmen, eight round-trips between Taipei and Makung, ten round-trips between Makung and Kaohsiung, as well as four weekly round-trips between Makung and Kinmen. The fares are set at NT$1,100 for the general public and NT$700 for local residents (after deducting the outlying island residents' subsidy). On average, the discount rate across these four routes is 40%, with the Taipei-Kinmen route seeing the highest reduction—up to 53% off for the general public and 48% off for local residents, based on the original fare of NT$2,088.

To provide more convenient ticket purchasing options, TransAsia Airways has added convenience store ticketing services. Tickets for domestic flights can now be purchased at two major convenience store chains in Taiwan: ibon at Uni-President chain stores, and FamiPort at FamilyMart, which is scheduled to go live on February 20. To thank consumers, TransAsia Airways has partnered with Taiwan Taxi to offer a one-month “Buy a Ticket, Get a Ride Discount” service. Customers who purchase tickets through convenience store platforms will enjoy a NT$70 discount on a single Taiwan Taxi ride (the 7-11 promotion runs until the end of February, while the FamilyMart promotion runs until mid-March).

The across-the-board promotional period for TransAsia Airways’ outlying island routes lasts until April 15, 2012, and applies to all flights. Customers may inquire about or book tickets via the TransAsia Airways website (www.tna.com.tw), travel websites (such as EVA Airways’ EasyJet, Easy Travel, Chan Star Travel Agency, Lion Travel Agency, and others), various major travel agencies, or through convenience store ticketing platforms.
