Introduction

Most of Cheung Chau’s ends are mountainous, with a long, narrow middle where most residents live. On the eastern side, it only takes a few minutes’ walk from the ferry pier to reach Tung Wan, a popular swimming spot among beachgoers. Walking eastward from Tung Wan and passing the Cheung Chau Warwick Hotel, you’ll soon arrive at Kwun Yam Wan, the site of the Cheung Chau Windsurfing Centre, where Hong Kong’s first Olympic gold medalist, Lee Lai Shan, used to train in windsurfing.
