Swan River Scenic Area

The Swan River Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Swan River Scenic Area is divided into the Peacock River Tourist Scenic Belt Section, the Swan River Scenic Area Section, and the Hongyan River Scenic Area Section. Located in the southern part of Korla City, it serves as an important waterway connecting the Peacock River and the Azalea River. The scenic area stretches ten kilometers from Lixiang Lake in the south to Shizi Bridge in the north. Covering an area of approximately 2,400 acres, including 765 acres of water surface, the Swan River Scenic Area is a key destination for leisure, tourism, and sightseeing in Korla.

There are a total of twenty bridges, ten islands, and twelve docks along the Swan River Scenic Area. Along the scenic route, there are cultural landmarks such as sculptures of Cen Shen, Ban Chao, fragrant pear, and the Hetu Luoshu. In front of Tianyuan Bridge stands the largest fountain in southern Xinjiang — the Dream Music Fountain, which has a circumference of 90 meters and a maximum jet height of up to several hundred meters. The dynamic and ever-changing fountain displays are truly breathtaking. Taking a boat ride through the Swan River Scenic Area, you’ll pass small bridges, flowing water, green islands, aquatic plants, winding waterways, and the densely lined buildings along both banks, all illuminated by dazzling lights, giving you the feeling of cruising along Nanjing’s Qinhuai River — a scene so enchanting that you won’t want to leave. In addition, hundreds of wild animals such as swans, wild ducks, cormorants, and mandarin ducks visit the area every year, attracting large numbers of tourists.

The Swan River Scenic Area officially opened on August 1, 2013. During its operation, it has welcomed a large number of visitors from both within and outside Xinjiang. Its beautiful scenery, distinctive night views, and high-quality services have received widespread praise. Currently, following the directives of the Korla Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the Swan River Scenic Area is actively working towards becoming a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It will become an important urban landmark for Korla and even the entire Xinjiang region. The scenic area welcomes domestic and international tourists to visit Korla, explore its beauty, and seek investment and business opportunities.
