Yesterday (the 27th) at around 2 p.m. in the Fragrant Hills scenic area, an elderly male tourist suddenly fell ill and collapsed. Five female tourists who were passing by promptly stepped in to help, performing first aid, but were unable to save the elderly man’s life.
The incident occurred near the Chongyang Pavilion within the Fragrant Hills scenic area. Emergency responders said they had received a call reporting that an elderly man had suddenly collapsed in the area. The responders took a cable car to the summit and then walked down several dozen meters via the stairs to reach the scene. At that time, the elderly man was lying on the ground. Other tourists said that after the man fainted, five female passersby immediately came forward. They introduced themselves as nurses from a hospital who happened to be visiting the area as well. The women quickly began to administer aid to the elderly man, seemingly including CPR and other lifesaving measures, but were unable to revive him. When the emergency personnel arrived, they immediately examined and treated the collapsed elderly man. However, after examination and resuscitation efforts, it was determined that the man had no signs of life.
Subsequently, several tourists who were acquainted with the elderly man arrived. They identified themselves as the man’s family members, who had come from out of town to visit the Fragrant Hills. They said they had not expected such an accident. It is believed the elderly man suffered a sudden severe illness, which ultimately led to his death. The cause of the man’s death is still under investigation.
