Yan’erwo Scenic Area

Yan’erwo Scenic Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Introduction: Yan’erwo is located in the southern suburbs of Urumqi, stretching from east of Yan’erwo Road in the east to the Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway in the west, from the Quarry Railway in the south to the intersection near the Yan’erwo Gas Station in the north, covering an area of approximately 350 hectares.

Yan’erwo is the only natural scenic forest in Urumqi, measuring 5 kilometers in length from north to south and 2 kilometers in width from east to west. The forest is dominated by white elm, along with poplar, willow, and wild rose shrubs, among which ancient trees over a hundred years old account for 40%.

The Yan’erwo woodland serves as the “natural green air conditioner” of Urumqi, the capital, and also acts as a natural barrier against wind and sand. With lush ancient trees and vibrant flowers, the area boasts an elegant environment and has the potential to be developed into a scenic area that prioritizes ancient tree conservation and supplements it with eco-tourism.
