The two female hikers, surnamed Su and Ou, were about 2.5 kilometers away from the Sanliujiu Mountain Hut on the evening of the 10th. Due to rain, hypothermia, and the approaching darkness, they got lost and called the fire department for assistance. It was reported that the two showed mild signs of hypothermia at the time. The fire department dispatched a rescue team in the evening, which stayed overnight at the Qika Mountain Hut. During the day, the team set out from the Qika Mountain Hut toward the Sanliujiu Mountain Hut, an approximately eight- to nine-hour journey. To prevent the hikers’ hypothermia from worsening, the fire department continuously contacted them and guided them to make their way to the Sanliujiu Mountain Hut. At around 11 p.m., good news came— the two had finally arrived at the hut and received warm clothing.
The two are no longer in immediate danger. Due to poor weather conditions in the mountain area in recent days, helicopter flights are restricted. Since the pair is in relatively stable condition, the rescue team will continue advancing on foot to rendezvous with them.
