Taiwan's mobile phone market is ever-changing, and Samsung Taiwan adheres to the "Plan–Do–See" (plan, execute, adjust as needed) approach to accelerate response times. Du Weiyu, General Manager of Samsung Taiwan's Mobile Communications Division, laughs as he recalls how his secretary often fills every moment from his 8 a.m. arrival at the office to his 8 p.m. departure with back-to-back meetings, leaving him no time even for a simple lunch outside the office. In the evenings, if there are no business engagements, he uses mobile messaging apps to apologize to or explain himself to colleagues who were scolded earlier in the day due to his impatience.

His impulsive nature, high-pressure lifestyle, and a family history of hypertension make stress relief especially important to Du. He says that every night before lying down to sleep, touching his beloved cameras and flipping through photography magazines helps calm both his mind and thoughts after the day’s high-stress environment, allowing for better sleep quality afterward.

Du Weiyu, who was part of the mountaineering club during his university days, has maintained his love for mountain climbing for 20 years without fading. Hiking on foot or cycling up mountains is also one of his go-to methods for relieving stress.
