Bayi Theater

Bayi Theater is a cultural heritage site protected by Xinjiang.

Bayi Theater was completed in 1954. With its simple and solemn architectural style, it is the oldest existing theater in Urumqi. It was designed, constructed, and supplied with materials by the People's Liberation Army troops entering Xinjiang. The theater has hosted major cultural performances and received visits from Party and state leaders, bearing witness to 60 years of development history in Urumqi and even the entire Xinjiang region.
