Guide The Hami City Melon Garden scenic area is a comprehensive specialty tourism base that integrates Hami melon cultivation, tasting, trade negotiations, planting history, as well as water fishing, horticultural leisure, natural Gobi sightseeing, and desert exploration. The scenic area covers a total area of 18,511.5 mu and is located in Karitali Village, Huayuan Township, Hami City, 17 kilometers from downtown Hami. Introduction The Hami Melon Garden is divided into five major zones: the Entrance Zone, Melon Park Zone, Water Park Zone, Orchard Leisure & Entertainment Zone, and Natural (Gobi) Scenic Viewing Zone.

The Entrance Zone mainly includes supporting facilities such as a beacon tower, watchtower, garden gate, Hami melon exhibition hall, camel and horse inn, Nanhu Posthouse, cultural wall, and parking lot, covering a total area of 70,000 square meters.

The Melon Park Zone mainly features Hami melon cultivation areas, tasting areas, and grapevine sightseeing spots, covering a total area of 3,873.1 mu. Under the 400-meter-long, 6-meter-wide grapevine corridor, visitors can enjoy a variety of cultural performances such as the Meshrep.

The Water Park focuses on boating, fishing, and camping holidays, covering a total area of 996.3 mu, including 866.7 mu of water surface. Around the artificial lake, there are curved bridges, pavilions, waterside pavilions, and other facilities. All buildings are situated by the lake, offering a beautiful environment, and providing leisure activities such as barbecuing, picnicking, fishing, swimming, and boating.

The Orchard Leisure & Entertainment Zone mainly consists of orchards and a small market, covering a total area of 3,157.5 mu, of which the orchard occupies 2,869.7 mu. It mainly offers dining, shopping, and ethnic song and dance performances.

The Natural (Gobi) Scenic Viewing Zone mainly features pagoda sightseeing, desert exploration, sand therapy, and other activities, covering a total area of 3,046.5 mu. Surrounded by sand dunes and deserts, visitors can enjoy desert landscapes, Tang Dynasty pagodas, desert holy springs, ecological forests, and more. They can also ride horses or camels through the ecological forest along desert trails to experience the natural desert scenery, as well as engage in desert off-roading and sand therapy. Transportation The Hami–Ruoqiang and Hami–Nanhu highways pass through this area, making transportation convenient.
