Xinjiang Hami River National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Xinjiang Hami River National Wetland Park is located in Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, covering a total area of 1,500 hectares.

The Hami River Wetland Park is divided into the East Hami River and the West Hami River. It originates from the Hami River outfall in the north, flows through the urban area of Hami City, and extends south to Heming Lake. The proposed Hami River National Wetland Park has a planned area of 1,200 hectares, with a wetland area of 830 hectares. According to the phased construction goals of the national wetland park, the planning period for the Hami River National Wetland Park is 7 years, divided into three phases: the near term (3 years, 2014–2016), the medium term (2 years, 2017–2018), and the long term (2 years, 2019–2020). The preliminary estimated total investment is 113.5 million yuan. This year marks the first year of project implementation, with planned construction projects including vegetation restoration, water area dredging, fencing works, wetland protection education and publicity, acquisition of scientific research equipment, and deployment of patrol equipment.

The wetlands in the Hami River basin are hailed as the kidneys of the Hami Oasis. The wetland area boasts rich biological resources and is one of the most biodiverse and densely populated regions in the Hami area. After two years of construction, the Hami River National Wetland Park project has achieved remarkable results, becoming a model initiative for building a beautiful Hami — a livable environment where the city is nestled in forests, the skies are blue, the waters are clear, and greenery flourishes.
