The Jianguo Mountain Ski Resort is planned to be rated as a 4S-level ski resort within the autonomous region. Located on the front slope area of Jianguo Mountain in Altay City and connected to the urban area, it is the only one of its kind in China and one of the few in the world located within a city. It boasts numerous advantages, including favorable mountain terrain, a long effective snow season, suitable temperatures, and minimal wind.

The Jianguo Mountain Ski Resort is being developed in three phases, with a total investment of 500 million yuan. To date, cumulative construction investment has reached 50 million yuan. The resort now features a 3,700-square-meter ski equipment hall (equipped with a VIP lounge, café, fast food restaurant, supermarket, ski shop, etc.), a 1.4-kilometer double chairlift, three large and three small surface lifts, an 110-meter-long magic carpet, one snow groomer, two snowmobiles, and more than 1,000 sets of various types of ski equipment. There are 16 ski runs with a total length of 18.82 kilometers, including four advanced runs, four intermediate runs, six beginner runs, one off-piste run, and one cross-country skiing run, along with a complete snowmaking system. The resort can accommodate over 5,000 visitors at a time, ensuring every skiing enthusiast can find a slope that suits them.
