Want to witness the Great Migration in Africa? China Southern Airlines launches Guangzhou–Nairobi flights

China Southern Airlines announced that starting August 5, it will officially launch the Guangzhou–Nairobi route, becoming the first direct flight between China and Kenya in China’s civil aviation industry. Additionally, from August 10, it will also open two regional routes within Xinjiang: Yining–Kanas and Altay–Yining, offering passengers more travel options.

China Southern Airlines stated that the Guangzhou–Nairobi route is the first direct flight between China and Kenya in China’s civil aviation industry and is currently the only route connecting mainland China to the African continent. Kenya’s Maasai Mara grasslands, the East African Rift Valley, and the Great Migration of animals attract millions of tourists from around the world every year. Arriving in Nairobi also allows for connections to nearly 40 other African cities. The Nairobi route is scheduled for three flights per week. Tickets from Taipei to Nairobi start as low as NT$19,120 round trip.

Additionally, starting August 10, China Southern Airlines will begin operating two regional tour loops within Xinjiang: Urumqi–Yining–Kanas–Urumqi (operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays) and Urumqi–Altay–Yining–Urumqi (operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays), making it more convenient for travelers exploring Xinjiang.
