Territory Minerals Museum
Territory Minerals Museum
Established and opened in Burqin County in 2002, the museum initially had fewer than ten staff members in total, from manager to employees, and covered an area of less than 100 square meters. The manager, Shao Xiaoguang, was a tourism graduate from Xinjiang Normal University and also a member of the China Gem & Jade Association. The "Territory Minerals Museum" is a privately-owned enterprise mainly focused on tourism shopping. After two major leaps forward and seven years of hard work, by 2008 it had grown into a small private enterprise with four shopping venues (two for receiving tourist groups and two for individual shoppers), covering a total area of 2,200 square meters and employing over 50 staff members, thereby achieving a certain scale. Currently, the "Territory Minerals Museum" is the largest, most influential, most professionally managed, and most reputable tourism shopping enterprise in the Altay region’s tourism shopping industry. It has been awarded more than ten honors and recognitions by various levels of government and regulatory authorities.
The growth and expansion of the "Territory Minerals Museum" have directly driven the development of the tourism shopping industry in Burqin County. Among these, the jade industry has seen rapid development—from nonexistence to establishment, from small-scale to large-scale operations—and has achieved scaled business practices. Now, there are over a hundred various types of shopping stores across the county, which have positively contributed to the economic development of Burqin and facilitated employment for a large number of people.
From 2002 to 2004, the "Territory Minerals Museum" went through three years of hard work and trial-and-error exploration, gaining certain experience in operation and management and accumulating some capital. Guided by the strategic vision of developing toward "high-quality," "premium-grade," and "larger-scale" operations, and adhering to the business philosophy of "honesty and integrity," Shao Xiaoguang decided in the spring of 2005 to relocate the "Minerals Museum" to the former compound of the tobacco and alcohol company. The store area was expanded several times over, and renovation and remodeling were carried out. A parking lot was built, and higher standards were set for employee quality. A series of regulations were established, and employee attire and polite language were standardized, significantly improving the overall appearance and elevating the caliber of the museum. After reopening on May 1st of that year, the museum attracted visitors from all directions with its brand-new image and received unanimous praise and positive feedback from relevant leaders and tourists. The "Territory Minerals Museum" entered a fast track of development, with notable improvements in economic performance and a逐年 increase in the number of employees hired.
For many years, the "Territory Minerals Museum" has consistently upheld the principles of "integrity as the foundation, comparing virtues to jade, and customer supremacy," never engaging in deceit. Whether in favorable or challenging circumstances, it has remained unwavering, earning the trust of numerous tourists. Meanwhile, various levels of government have awarded it honorary titles such as "Tourism Star Enterprise" and "Contract-Abiding and Credit-Worthy Unit."
