Kulustai Grassland, located 25 kilometers from Yumin County, is the second largest inland plain grassland in China. The wetland stretches approximately 52 kilometers in length and about 13 kilometers in width from north to south, covered with dense reeds, needlegrass, Russian thistle, and over a hundred species of wild forage grasses, serving as a year-round pasture vital to local herders. When summer arrives, lush grass blankets every corner of the Kulustai Wetland, resembling a thick carpet spread across the land. In spring, the reed marshes serve as a habitat for various migratory birds such as wild geese and ducks, as well as cold-water fish and hares. People walking through the tall reeds and needlegrass, which can reach heights of 3 to 4 meters, often startle flocks of birds into flight. This is an untouched paradise where a variety of wildlife thrives, making it an ideal destination for birdwatching.
