The Wild Almond Nature Reserve is located in the Barluk Mountain Range, 65 kilometers southwest of Yumin County, at an altitude of 800 to 1,200 meters. According to experts, the over 100,000 mu (with more than 20,000 mu forming contiguous forests) of wild almond forests within Yumin County represent the largest area of wild rare plant resources in the world, belonging to tertiary relict species known globally as "living fossils" of the plant kingdom. This reserve was designated as a nature reserve by the autonomous region in August 1980. The blooming period of the almonds occurs from late April to early May each year. During this time, a spectacular pink ocean unfolds between snow-capped mountains and green grasslands. When the breeze blows, floral waves ripple, and the fragrance drifts across the land. In late summer to early autumn, the fruits ripen, hanging abundantly on the branches—yellow tinged with red—and exuding a rich almond aroma that is refreshing and intoxicating, as if transporting visitors to a paradise on earth, leaving them feeling refreshed and uplifted.
