Kashgar Port

Kashgar Port is located on the border between China and Tajikistan, 13 kilometers from National Highway 314, at an altitude of 4,300 meters. It is a Class I land port for both passengers and cargo approved by the Chinese government on May 25, 2004, at the request of Tajikistan.

The port was approved by the state in 2007 as a permanently open Class I port.

As a window for China’s opening-up to the west, in recent years, Kashgar Port has played a vital role in transporting various material, cultural, and daily necessities demanded by countries such as Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and even Russia, serving as a bridge connecting Europe and Asia.

The newly built Kashgar International Astronomical Observatory, Border Post 5024, and the nearby Muztagh Ata Glacier have become stunning attractions around the port, drawing tourists, travelers, investors, and developers from over 30 countries and regions. Especially in recent years, with the continuous improvement of the port’s functions, more affluent merchants are traveling through this port to the European continent, continuing the glorious history of the ancient Silk Road. This has created a solid platform and served as a key link for Xinjiang’s future strategy of “linking east to west and exporting west to east,” bolstering its outward economic development.
