Jirigala

The Tajik word "Jirigala" translates to "post station" in Chinese. Along the ancient Silk Road from the Taxkorgan River Valley to the Mintaka Pass, there remain six ancient post stations. One of the more well-preserved ones is the Dabuda Ancient Post Station. This station is a pebble structure about the size of a single-room house, with its door facing east. The lower part of the building is square in shape, and the roof has a pointed arch. In one of the corners inside the stone house, there is a hearth built from pebbles, and the walls are covered with soot marks from fires. In front of the stone house lies a lush riverside meadow, suitable for visitors, merchants, and herders to let their horses graze or for leisure activities.
