The Qingliang World Scenic Area (Qingliang Temple) is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Qingliang World Scenic Area is located 7.5 kilometers south of Longde County and 6 kilometers from National Highway 312. It encompasses the Xiaoxia and Daxia areas, covering a total area of 3.5 square kilometers. The scenic area boasts a rich diversity of wildlife, with 788 plant species and 207 animal species, making it a natural wildlife park. Historically, it served as a battlefield when Genghis Khan, Li Zicheng, and others conquered Longde City (formerly known as Deshun Prefecture). This scenic area combines religious culture with ecological sightseeing, featuring a temple complex that blends Buddhism and Taoism, Qinglong Waterfall, Genghis Khan’s Command Platform, Laughing Buddha Mountain, Brush Rack Peak, Ink Pool, Lovers’ Valley, Laojun Cattle-Reclining Platform, Incense Burner Peak, and Guan Yu’s Horse-Drinking Spring.

The most famous site in the area is Qingliang Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Longde County. Currently, the Qingliang World Scenic Area has developed infrastructure including a mountain gate, roads, landscape bridges, Peach Blossom Pool, stone tables, and stone benches. The Qingliang Valley extends about 20 kilometers deep, with valleys within valleys. The surrounding mountains are steep, elegant, and uniquely shaped, with peaks connected one after another. The waters of the Qingliang River are sweet, cool, and refreshing, invigorating both body and mind. Qingliang Mountain warms up quickly in spring, cools down slowly in autumn, avoids the summer heat, and remains free from the bitter cold of winter, with an average annual temperature of 5.6°C. During the peak summer months of June to August, temperatures here stay around just 20°C. Farmers continue working in the fields, vendors stroll through the land selling their wares, and visitors wear hats but don’t need fans or umbrellas—feeling refreshed, content, and at ease. It is an ideal destination for summer retreats, leisure, vacationing, and fitness.
