Qingliu River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

Qingliu River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located at the foot of the Liupan Mountains, east of Longde County, with a total planned area of approximately 28.9 square kilometers. It lies at the center of the radiation zones of the three provincial capital cities—Xi'an, Lanzhou, and Yinchuan. Both National Highway 312 and the Lanzhou-Qingdao Expressway run through the area, making it a vital transportation hub connecting the northwest with central China, central-southern China, and the southwest. Leveraging its unique geographical position and abundant water conservation resources, since 2010, Longde County has adopted a construction and management mechanism of “water conservation as the platform, government as the driving force.” By mobilizing various stakeholders, integrating funds, and through one year of concentrated treatment followed by three years of renovation and enhancement, the scenic area now features interconnected reservoirs, dams, and landscape waterways, forming a water area of 0.69 square kilometers. With beautiful scenery, sound ecology, and rich biodiversity, it is hailed as the “Plateau Green Island” and the “Natural Botanical Garden.” In addition, cultural attractions such as the Liupan People’s Folk Culture Village (Yangjiadian), Liupan Mountain Rare Plants Garden, Ancient Willow Park, Liupan Mountain Cultural City, and Old Lane of Liupan People have been developed. These complement nearby distinctive natural attractions such as Liupan Tianchi Lake, Fuxi Cliff, and the Cool World, collectively forming a national-level water conservancy scenic area that integrates cultural tourism, sightseeing and summer retreats, leisure vacations, and educational experiences.
