Fuxi Divine Cliff

Fuxi Divine Cliff is located about 1,000 meters north of the Liupan Tianchi Scenic Area. From a distance, the shape of the mountain resembles a red bat with its wings spread wide, hence it is also known as “Bat Cliff.” The cliff stands approximately 100 meters high and stretches 300 meters wide. On the cliff there are two Fuxi Caves: one is a dry cave, 10 meters deep and 4 meters wide, which can accommodate 200 people; the other is a water cave, at the entrance of which there is a stone water tank that is 5 meters deep and 3 meters wide. Legend has it that this was where Fuxi and his wife created humanity and drew water to drink. The water in the tank increases but never overflows, remaining so all year round—clear and sweet. It is said that dropping this water into one’s eyes can improve vision, drinking it can cure all ailments, sharing it between a man and a woman can lead to partnership, estranged couples who drink it together can reconcile, and feuding friends who drink it will grow close. It is also believed to nourish beauty, promote health, and bring lasting fortune and longevity.
