The Site of XIAO River Ancient City is a cultural heritage protection unit of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

The Site of XIAO River Ancient City is located in Laocheng Village, XIAO River Township, Xiji County, Guyuan City, dating back to the Song Dynasty.

On September 15, 2005, the Site of XIAO River Ancient City was designated as part of the third batch of Autonomous Region Cultural Heritage Protection Units.

XIAO River Township: Located in the eastern part of Xiji County, XIAO River Township is traversed by the Zhongjing Highway. The township comprises 13 villages, 82 villager groups, 3,537 households, and a population of 18,227, among which 15,587 are ethnic Hui. It has a total labor force of 9,738 people, with 4,679 person-times engaged in labor export. The township encompasses a total cultivated land area of 55,295 mu, including 5,310 mu of irrigated land. There are 19,841 mu of land returned from farming to forest and grassland, and 2,100 mu of artificially planted grass. Currently, there are 6,818 head of cattle, 6,156 sheep, and 1,687 farm vehicles.
