Wufeng Temple, a provincial-level cultural heritage site, is located on Wufeng Mountain in Baiduonao Village, Wufeng Township, about 15 kilometers northwest of Weiyuan Town in Huzhu County and 45 kilometers from the provincial capital Xining. The mountain is surrounded by five peaks arranged like the fingers of a hand, hence the name "Wufeng Mountain" (Five Peaks Mountain), and since there is a temple on the mountain, it is called Wufeng Temple. The temple was first built in the 15th year of the Chongzhen reign during the Ming Dynasty, i.e., 1642 AD. It is a Taoist temple and features classical Chinese temple architecture. By the Qing Dynasty, it had already been recognized as one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Huangzhong." It remains a well-known tourist attraction in Qinghai Province and is one of the five major scenic areas within the 4A-level Tuzu Hometown Park in Huzhu County.

The current structures of Wufeng Temple were all built after 1978, including the Bodhisattva Hall, the Temple of the Boundless, the Bagua Pavilion, the Jade Emperor Temple, the Three Pure Ones Palace, the Black Tiger Cave, the West Archway by the Clear Flower Spring, the Hexagonal Pavilion, and the Incense Master Tower. It was designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage site of Qinghai Province on May 27, 1986. The temple is surrounded by verdant peaks shrouded in mist and clouds, with murmuring springs and breathtaking scenery. Springs gush forth among the mountains, flowing continuously all year round, clear and bright, azure like jade. In summer, flowers bloom in profusion. On the sixth day of the sixth lunar month each year, Wufeng Temple hosts a traditional mountain pilgrimage fair. People of the Tu, Han, Tibetan, and Hui ethnicities gather to sing songs on the mountain. On this day, celebrants dressed in festive attire flock here to sightsee and engage in singing competitions. From morning till evening, visitors and worshippers come in an endless stream. It has become a popular summer retreat and spring outing destination.
