Nanmenxia Wetland Park is a national wetland park.

Nanmenxia Wetland Park is located in Nanmenxia Town, Huzhu Tu Autonomous County, Qinghai Province, at the southern foot of the Qilian Mountains and at the base of the Dabanshan Snow Mountain. The rivers within the park are all part of the Huangshui River system, a tributary of the Yellow River, making it one of the sources of the Yellow River. The park lies in the transitional zone between the Loess Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, featuring the natural characteristics of both plateaus. The terrain is undulating, higher in the north and lower in the south, with significant elevation differences. Nanmenxia National Wetland Park still retains its unique pristine landscape, with stunning natural scenery, relatively well-preserved vegetation, and serves as an excellent habitat for wildlife, plants, and various bird species. The main tree species include Qilian juniper, Qinghai spruce, and sea buckthorn. Every May marks the golden tourist season when the park comes alive with snow-capped mountains and canyons, winding rivers, lush grass, chirping birds, fish swimming in the river, blooming sea buckthorn and rapeseed flowers, and spikes of highland barley filling the air with fragrance. Bees and butterflies are drawn to the scents, while visitors and waterfowl flock to the area. The wetlands in the park are divided into three main types: riverine wetlands, artificial wetlands, and marsh wetlands. The total wetland area is 992.94 hectares, including 786.76 hectares of riverine wetlands, 87.68 hectares of marsh wetlands, and 118.50 hectares of artificial wetlands.

Nanmenxia Town: Nanmenxia Town is located in the northwest of the county, approximately 20 kilometers from the county seat. It has a population of 20,000, predominantly Han Chinese, along with Tibetan, Tu, and Hui ethnic groups. The town covers a total area of 265.3 square kilometers and governs 14 village committees: Quezang Temple, Ergou, Dalahugou, Qijiazhuang, Xipo, Maqi, Qitai’er, Donggou, Gasi’jia, Xishangen, Xiakou, Beigounao, Gubian, and Juancao. Originally part of Longwang Township in Datong County, it was transferred to Huzhu County in 1954. In 1958, it merged with Fengren Township to form Quezang Temple Township, which was then incorporated into Wufeng Commune.
