The Zhangkashan Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Qinghai Province.

Zhangkashan Site

Located to the west of Zhangkashan Village, Songduo Township, Huzhu Tu Autonomous County. Zhangkashan is part of the mountainous region and sits at a relatively high elevation. The site is bordered by mountains to the northwest, a village to the east, and gentle slopes to the south, covering an area of approximately 120×100 meters. A major irrigation canal runs through the northwest part of the site, causing some damage to its northern section. Exposed sections of the cliff face reveal ash layers, ash pits, and remnants of tombs. Pottery fragments are scattered across the ground, and the ash layers and pits contain a significant amount of animal bones, pottery shards, and broken stones. All the pottery fragments found are of the “Tangwang-style,” including unglazed plain pottery as well as double-handled jars, single-handled jars, urns, and pots decorated with cord marks and appliqué patterns, along with fragments of painted vessels such as double-handled jars and bean-shaped vessels adorned with spiral, meander, and stylized S-pattern designs. In 1958, during the construction of the irrigation canal, one intact painted spiral-pattern double-handled jar and one plain meander-pattern double-handled jar were collected. This site is a provincially designated cultural heritage protection unit.
