The Gashan Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Qinghai Province.

The Gashan Site

Located southwest of Dasilu Village, Weiyuan Town, Huzhu Tu Autonomous County. Gashan consists of several small earthen mounds arranged in a crisscross pattern, with the site situated among the western three mounds. It covers an area of approximately 200×100 meters, with a cultural deposit thickness of 100–150 centimeters. The surface is scattered with numerous pottery shards, animal bones, and scattered stone tools. Exposed sections of the cliff reveal ash layers and irregular ash pits, containing mixed bones, river pebbles, and pottery shards. The observed pottery shards are all fragments of sandy pottery items from the Kayue Culture period, such as double-handled jars, basins, handleless jars, and li tripods. The cliff faces of the mounds also expose multiple brick-chambered tombs from the Han and Jin periods. This site serves both as a Kayue Culture settlement and a cluster of Han and Jin dynasty tombs. It is a provincial-level cultural heritage protection site.
