Fotang Temple (Fourth Batch of Provincial-Level Protected Sites)

Era: Yuan, Ming, Qing Dynasties

Address: Qianshacheng Village, Xizhen Township, Yuanping City

Originally built during the Song Dynasty, with renovations carried out in the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties. The temple faces south and is laid out along a central axis, featuring a front hall and a main Buddha hall in sequence, with side structures including a shrine, Arhat Hall, and Guan Di Temple, covering an area of 2,500 square meters. The Buddha hall is a Yuan Dynasty structure, while the front hall is from the Ming Dynasty.

The Buddha hall is the Mahavira Hall. The entire structure is built on a raised platform, with a front terrace, measuring three bays in both width and depth, forming a square floor plan with a single-eave hanging hip roof. The interior houses statues of the Three Ages of Buddhas.
