Duanjialing Erwang Cave

Duanjialing Erwang Cave, located on Xiciqiliang in Duanjialing Village, Xuangang Town, Yuanping City, was originally a tunnel of the Tongpu Railway. According to the *Yuanping County Annals*, it was built in the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934), officially opened to traffic in March 1937 (the 26th year of the Republic of China), and abandoned in 1956 when the railway built a new tunnel. The tunnel is 380 meters long and 4.5 meters wide, with a stone arch ceiling. A stone plaque is embedded at the front of the cave's ceiling, inscribed with the three characters “尔旺洞” (Erwang Cave). The name "Erwang Cave" was given in honor of Erwang, who made significant contributions to the construction of the tunnel. (Content excerpted from *A Collection of Cultural Relics in Xinzhou*)

Duanjialing Village: Duanjialing Village is a mountainous natural village under the jurisdiction of Xuangang Town, Yuanping City. It is located 53 kilometers northwest of the city center and 10 kilometers from the town government, with geographical coordinates of 38°57′ north latitude and 112°20′ east longitude. The village is named “Duanjialing” (literally “Duan Family Ridge”) because it is situated on a mountain ridge and has a predominantly surnamed Duan population.
