The cliffside rock carvings on Shidi Mountain in Shiyu are located on Shidi Mountain east of Shiyu Village, Zhongyang Township, Yuanping City. The carvings cover an area of about 6 square meters. On the 28th day of the first lunar month in the 19th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1839), a ban on grazing was engraved onto the rocks of the cliff, defining the no-grazing zone. “East to ? Vegetable Canal, west to Old Pond, south to Earth Kiln Gully, north to Moon Eclipse Hollow,” “Prohibited to graze on this Shidi Mountain field on the 21st day of the first lunar month in the 19th year of the Daoguang reign of the Great Qing.” The text is carved in regular script in intaglio. Shiyu Village: Shiyu Village in Zhongyang Township, Yuanping City, is located 7.5 kilometers northeast of Yuanping. It lies east of the Tianya Mountain Range and west of the Hutuo River. The village has a total population of 555, with 189 households, and cultivable land covering 3,000 mu, including over 1,700 mu of hilly and steep slope land, over 500 mu of irrigated land, and 800 mu of riverside land. The village raises 3,000 cashmere goats. To the east of the village lies a grand canyon with unique scenery.

Shiyu Village has a long history and simple folk customs. Its culture can be traced back to before the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. In the late 1960s, bronze artifacts such as the Sword of the King of Zhao were unearthed at Zhaojia’nao east of the village.
