Wei Family Residence No. 1 in Weijiazhuang

Wei Family Residence No. 1 in Weijiazhuang is located in Weijiazhuang Village, Dalin Township, Yuanping City. It faces north and measures 16 meters in length from east to west and 25 meters in width from north to south, covering an area of 400 square meters. The exact date of its construction is unknown, but the existing structure dates back to the Qing Dynasty. The residence follows a single-courtyard layout, with the main house situated along the central axis, flanked by wing rooms on both sides, and a ladies’ chamber (embroidery tower) built in the southwest and the courtyard gate in the northwest. The main house features a width of three bays, a depth of four rafters, a stone-paved base, a five-rafter front eave with a porch, and a single-eave flush gable roof. A birthday commemorative plaque inscribed with the characters “Bin Yan Jie Shou” (Celebrating Longevity with Honored Guests), dated to the 24th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1844), is hung on the front eave of the main house, while the courtyard gate bears a plaque inscribed with the two characters “Jian Gu.” (Content excerpted from “A Collection of Cultural Relics in Xinzhou”)
