Shangwang Wuzhen Tower

Shangwang Wuzhen Tower, located on a terrace about 50 meters east of Shangwang Village, Guoyang Town, Yuanping City. It faces south and measures 4 meters in east-west length and 4.35 meters in north-south width, covering an area of 18 square meters. The year of its construction is unknown, but the existing structure exhibits architectural styles from the Qing Dynasty. It is a square, tower-like carved building with a total of four stories; the lower three floors are built of brick in a square form, and the top features 0.0 with a facade width of one bay, a depth of two rafters, a single-eave hanging gable roof, and wooden floorboards and stairs between the levels. A plaque inscribed with the three characters “Wuzhen Tower” (悟真楼) hangs on the front of the tower. (Content excerpted from “A Collection of Cultural Relics in Xinzhou”)

Shangwang Village: Shangwang Village is located one kilometer west of Guoyang Town, Yuanping City, Shanxi Province. It borders the Guoning Highway to the north, has 230 households, and cultivates 2,000 mu of farmland. The output value of the new socialist countryside has been increasing year by year. In recent years, the roads have been paved with concrete, connecting to Guoyang Town in the east and linking to the Guoning Highway in the west, spanning a total length of 2 kilometers. Through the East-to-West Water Diversion Project, deep wells supply water via 6-inch pipes buried over a distance of 5 kilometers, thereby increasing irrigated farmland by more than 500 mu. Poultry and pig farming have been expanding year by year, with currently over 10 chicken farms raising a total of more than 21,000 chickens, and over 300 pigs. To further expand pig farming, barren valleys are being developed, and a large-scale pig farm with a capacity of 10,000 pigs is under new construction.
