Weicun Site

The Weicun Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Yuanping City.

The Weicun Site is located on the hilly slope of the western bank of the Yunzhong River, approximately 500 meters southwest of Weicun in Yanzhuang Town, Yuanping City. There are gullies to the north and south. It stretches about 1,500 meters from east to west and about 500 meters from north to south, covering a total area of approximately 750,000 square meters. Surface collections include fragments of Longshan Culture pottery made of clay, featuring decorative patterns such as cord marks, with vessel shapes such as dou (tripod food vessels). In 1981, the Yuanping Municipal People's Government designated it as a county (city)-level cultural heritage protection site. Content excerpted from ("Xinzhou Cultural Relics Collection").

Weicun Village: Weicun is located 2.5 kilometers west of Yanzhuang Town. The village lies on a hilly area with relatively poor resources, mainly relying on the development of planting and breeding industries.

Weicun has over 400 households and a population of around 1,400, with 3,800 mu of arable land, including 1,600 mu of irrigated land. Under the leadership of the village Party branch and the village committee, the people of Weicun have persisted in farmland infrastructure construction, afforestation, and water basin management, greatly improving production conditions, increasing grain yields, and raising farmers’ incomes. In recent years, with the establishment and improvement of the agricultural production responsibility system and the village-level service system, there has been rapid development in planting, breeding, transportation, commerce, and more.
