Dongguan Village Ruins

The Dongguan Village Ruins are situated roughly 50 meters east of Dongguan Village in Guoyang Town, Yuanping City, on a terrace west of the Hutuo River. They span about 800 meters in the north-south direction and approximately 300 meters east-west, with a total area of around 240,000 square meters. The structure conforms to the natural terrain, taking the shape of an irregular polygon. Historical records in the *Guan County Annals* indicate that the city was established in the fourth year of the Yongjia period of the Western Jin Dynasty (310). Today, over 600 meters of the city wall remain, built with rammed earth. The base is about 8 meters wide, with remnants standing roughly 5 meters high. The earthen layers are 0.1 meters thick, and the individual rammed impressions have a diameter of 0. [unit missing]. The city gates no longer exist. Dongguan Village: Located in the northeastern part of Guoyang Town, Yuanping City, Dongguan Village covers an area of 10 square kilometers and has 1,856 mu of arable land, all of which is irrigated. The village has a total of 321 households and a population of 975 people. In 2009, the per capita net income of villagers was 4,555 yuan. The village Party branch has 33 members, including five female party members.
