Tangchangnan Tomb Cluster

The Tangchangnan Tomb Cluster is a cultural heritage site protected by Yuanping City.

The Tangchangnan Tomb Cluster is situated on a hill about 30 meters southwest of Tangchang Village, Guoyang Town, Yuanping City. It extends roughly 100 meters from north to south and 50 meters from east to west, covering an area of around 5,000 square meters. The burial mounds have been leveled, and the tomb structures remain unknown. Since 2000, as villagers dug soil for building homes, tombs have been unearthed repeatedly, with villagers collecting intact artifacts such as pottery jars, tripods, ewers, plates, and stoves. The Yuanping City Museum has gathered these unearthed relics.

Tangchang Village: Located northwest of Guoyang Town, Tangchang Village covers an area of 2.5 square kilometers, with a total population of 700 people, 200 households, and an average per capita income of 4,257 yuan. The village has over 3,000 mu of arable land, and its economy is primarily based on farming, supplemented by animal husbandry.

Tangchang Village was originally called "Ta’ershang" (on the peach) due to its location in the semi-hilly region of the Loess Plateau, surrounded by slopes and resembling a peach atop a pond. It was later also known as "Tangshang Village." By the time of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty during the Zhenguan era, General Li Jing stationed troops here while leading a northern campaign. The army maintained strict discipline, causing no harm to local residents and treating them with deep respect.
