Wuzhe Hot Spring Scenic Area is located 80 kilometers east of the world-famous Stone Forest, 15 kilometers from the Luli Alu Ancient Cave Scenic Area, 170 kilometers from Kunming, and 26 kilometers from the Shizong Station on the Nanning-Kunming Railway. It lies within the Pearl River basin. This area was historically the settlement and habitat of the ancient “Alu” tribe and early inhabitants. Rich in cultural heritage, unique human landscapes, and a beautiful ecological environment, it offers visitors delightful surprises, a sense of warmth, enchantment, mystery, and boundless romance.

Known as a “paradise on earth,” Wuzhe Hot Spring Scenic Area is famed for its tranquility and breathtaking natural scenery. The hot spring water gushes out at a temperature of 78°C, with an annual output of 220,800 cubic meters. Rich in various minerals, it provides numerous health benefits. The area features well-developed facilities including a two-star hot spring hotel, park, fishing center, agritainment sites, amusement city, parking lots, and an ethnically distinctive “Wuzhe Hot Spring Art Troupe.” It is a comprehensive water tourism destination integrating dining, accommodation, entertainment, vacationing, and health treatments. It was a designated tourist site for the ’99 Kunming World Expo and was recognized by the Yunnan Provincial Government as an advanced unit for reception work during the expo. In 2002, it was designated a National Water Conservancy Scenic Area by China’s Ministry of Water Resources.

The Wuzhe Medium-sized Reservoir, nestled within the hot spring scenic area, is renowned as the “Little Three Gorges.” Surrounded by mountains and lush, verdant trees, the reservoir boasts crystal-clear blue waters and picturesque scenery. Various waterfowl play amidst the lake and mountain vistas, creating a scene straight out of a poem or painting—truly breathtaking. Boating here dissolves all worries. With its clear mountains and emerald waters, it feels like a fairyland. A 10,000-acre wildflower sea has been developed in the area, and a planned 10,000-acre bamboo forest by the reservoir, together with the local Small White Yi ethnic minority living around the reservoir—known for their unique and vivid cultural characteristics—add vibrant touches to the entire landscape. These elements blend “mountains, water, flowers, and bamboo” and harmonize “the rare, ancient, wild, and extraordinary,” creating natural and cultural scenes that captivate and enchant visitors.
