Jinshuihe Port

Originally known as Nafa Port, Jinshuihe Port is located at the southern end of Jinping County in Honghe Prefecture. Jinping County borders Vietnam’s Lai Châu Province, with a shared border stretching 502 kilometers. Jinshuihe Port faces the Vietnam Lai Châu Malutang Port (also called Banamcong) across just a river, connected by the China-Vietnam Friendship Bridge. It is 95 kilometers from Lai Châu City in Vietnam’s Lai Châu Province, 195 kilometers from Dien Bien Phu, 580 kilometers from Hanoi, 54 kilometers from Santang Town in Fengtu County, Vietnam, 147 kilometers from Lào Cai (the capital of Lao Cai Province), and 231 kilometers from the Laos border. Domestically, there are direct buses to Gejiu (159 km), Kaiyuan (210 km), Mengzi (208 km), and Kunming (470 km). The port is 35 kilometers from the county seat. On February 25, 1993, Jinshuihe Port was approved by the State Council as a national first-class port, and officially opened on November 10 of the same year. The Jinshuihe Border Inspection Station was also established at that time. The annual flow of inbound and outbound travelers exceeds 100,000, with 20,000 to 30,000 tons of cargo. The port has well-established joint inspection agencies. In 2002, the port’s trade volume reached 115 million RMB.
