Huyuan Hot Spring

Huyuan Hot Spring is located at the head of Huyuan Village at the foot of the West Mountain in Qingping Township, Longchuan County, 41 kilometers from the county seat Zhangfeng. Here, surrounded by mountains and lush trees, with swaying green bamboos and clear blue waters stretching as far as the eye can see, the scenery is picturesque and captivating.

The geology here consists of mixed sedimentary faulted granite, and clear spring water bubbles up from beneath pebbles, steaming hot, with temperatures reaching 60°C—hot enough to cook an egg at the warmest spots. The spring water murmurs into the Nanwan River and then flows quietly southward. With a discharge rate of about 31.4 liters per second, the water remains crystal clear and constantly emits a refreshing sulfur aroma. The hot spring converges into a stream and blends with the cool, clear water under large pebbles, allowing bathers to adjust the temperature themselves. Known as the place where peacocks rest, this hot spring offers multiple therapeutic benefits, making it an excellent spot for bathing and convalescence, on par with Tengchong Hot Springs.

Qingping Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Longchuan County. Established as Qingping District in 1953, it was merged into Chengzi District in August 1956. In 1969, it became Weidong Commune, reverted to Qingping District in 1984, and was restructured as a township in 1988. Located north of the county seat, it lies 13.5 kilometers from the county center. Covering an area of 196 square kilometers, it has a population of 13,000, including 7,500 Jingpo people, 3,044 Dai people, and 388 Lisu people. It administers nine administrative villages: Qingping, Guangwai, Xinshan, Nonglong, Zhengjia, Likun, Zhaojiazhai, Dachang, and Guangling.
