Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference

The Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference is located at No. 96, Zi Yin Road, Honghuagang District, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province. It covers a total area of over 40,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 18,457 square meters and an exhibition space of 6,083 square meters.

The Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was established to commemorate the Zunyi Conference. It is one of the first 21 revolutionary memorial halls built after the founding of the People’s Republic of China and opened in October 1955. The hall consists of eleven memorial sites, including the site of the Zunyi Conference. In November 1964, Chairman Mao Zedong inscribed the six Chinese characters “遵义会议会址” (Site of the Zunyi Conference) for the memorial. As of November 28, 2008, the museum housed a collection of 1,551 cultural relics, including 726 originals, 667 replicas, and 158 reproductions. By May 14, 2019, the museum had newly acquired over 2,000 revolutionary relics and historical documents. Among its collection, there are 11 national first-class relics and 30 second- and third-class national relics.

On May 16, 2008, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was listed among the first batch of National First-Class Museums by the National Cultural Heritage Administration. In January 2017, the National Development and Reform Commission published the “National Directory of Classic Red Tourism Attractions,” and the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was included. In December 2017, it was selected as one of the first group of Research and Practice Education Bases for Chinese Primary and Secondary School Students.

As of November 28, 2008, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference housed a collection of 1,551 items, comprising 726 originals, 667 replicas, and 158 reproductions. By May 14, 2019, the museum had newly acquired over 2,000 revolutionary relics and historical materials. Among its collection of revolutionary relics, there are 11 national first-class relics and 30 second- and third-class national relics.

In March 1961, the State Council designated the Site of the Zunyi Conference as one of the first batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level.

In 1993, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was selected by the National Cultural Heritage Administration as a “National Outstanding Social Education Base.”

In 1995, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was named a “National Youth Education Base” by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.

In 1996, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was jointly named a “National Hundred Patriotic Education Demonstration Bases for Primary and Secondary Schools” by the State Education Commission, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the National Cultural Heritage Administration, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and the General Political Department of the People’s Liberation Army.

In June 1997, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was announced by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee as one of the 100 Patriotic Education Demonstration Bases.

In 2005, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was listed among 100 National Classic Red Tourism Attractions, jointly announced by 13 departments including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and the National Tourism Administration.

On May 16, 2008, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was listed among the first batch of National First-Class Museums by the National Cultural Heritage Administration.

In May 2010, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was named one of China’s first Integrity Education Bases by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Ministry of Supervision.

In December 2011, it was awarded the honorary title of “Third Batch of National Civilized Units” by the Central Guidance Commission for Building Spiritual Civilization.

In January 2017, the National Development and Reform Commission published the “National Directory of Classic Red Tourism Attractions,” and the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was included.

In December 2017, the Memorial Hall of the Zunyi Conference was selected as one of the first group of Research and Practice Education Bases for Chinese Primary and Secondary School Students.

In November 2019, it was named a “Second Batch of National Legal Publicity and Education Bases” by the National Office for Popularizing Law.

Admission: Free admission upon collection at the ticket window with valid ID.

Transportation: Buses passing by the Zunyi Conference Site bus stop include Routes 2 (Inner Loop), 2 (Outer Loop), 2 (Circular), 4, 6 (Loop), 6 (Circular), 7, 9, 18, 21, and 25.
