Xinpu National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site

Xinpu Town is located 10 kilometers east of the downtown area of Zunyi City. The town has an average elevation of 800 meters, an annual average temperature of 16°C, a forest coverage rate of 37%, and a frost-free period of 280 days throughout the year. It boasts a beautiful natural environment, increasingly improved infrastructure, convenient transportation, and well-developed communication networks. In recent years, as part of the efforts to establish a national agricultural tourism demonstration site, significant work has been carried out in strengthening the development of agricultural tourism bases and related supporting facilities, laying a solid foundation for accelerating the growth of agricultural tourism. In 2005, after evaluation by the National Tourism Administration, it was designated as a National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site.

Xinpu Town features over ten natural and cultural attractions, including the picturesque Renjiang River, the scenic Taiping Lake nestled among mountains and waters, the water-fire cave rich in development and tourism potential, the 5,000-acre Muzishi shrubland, the densely forested Taiping Mountain, the majestic and uniquely shaped Lion Mountain, as well as the historic and archaeologically valuable ancient fortress—Zhongqiao Lijiazhai. There are also 3,500 acres of tea plantations, 1,000 acres of pear orchards, 2,000 acres of lotus fields, and a 10-mile ecological grape corridor. Since 1998, Xinpu Town has seized opportunities from hosting agricultural sightseeing parks and agricultural product competitions to attract investment. Fifteen leisure resorts mainly focused on dining and entertainment, such as Yongfusi Manor and Jingma Manor, have been introduced, laying the groundwork for the development of agricultural sightseeing tourism and forming an initial set of agricultural tourism products and routes. The eco-agricultural sightseeing tourism area has taken initial shape, with increasingly complete supporting facilities and a daily reception capacity of up to 1,000 visitors. Every spring and summer, urban residents and those from surrounding counties flock to the hills for outings and flower and fruit viewing.

Xinpu Streets: Here you’ll find mountains, waters, and lotus blossoms painting a picturesque scene; here you’ll discover bridges, caves, and ancient villages full of untapped potential; here you’ll hear laughter, love, and songs reflecting the purest of hearts. Such sights and sentiments might even inspire the great poet Tao Yuanming himself to marvel and draw comparisons to the Peach Blossom Spring. Indeed, this is Xinpu Town in Honghuagang District, Zunyi City, hailed by visitors as the "Green Homeland."
