Zunyi Folk Museum

Adjacent to the Zunyi Conference Memorial Hall and located on Hongjun Street, the Zunyi Folk Museum was built to integrate seamlessly with the Zunyi Conference Memorial Hall, complementing each other perfectly.

The museum spans over 1,000 square meters with nine exhibition halls, featuring a Founding Fathers’ Figures Gallery; a refined and intricately carved Ming and Qing Furniture Culture Gallery; a Ceramics Culture Gallery showcasing artifacts from the Han and Song Dynasties; a Paleontological Fossil Gallery; a Stone Carving Culture Gallery; a Nuo Opera Culture Gallery; and a unique three-dimensional double-hook calligraphy gallery — a one-of-a-kind art form in China. The collection includes paleontological fossils, Ming and Qing porcelain, Song and Yuan stone carvings, carved window frames from northern Guizhou, Ming and Qing furniture, and Nuo opera masks. The owner is Wu Jun, a private entrepreneur and collector from Zunyi. Among the highlights are a three-meter-wide, three-ton nanmu tree root, a luxurious “Nine-Five” dragon bed made of rosewood and carved with 95 dragons, paleontological fossils, northern Guizhou Nuo opera artifacts, and the extraordinary three-dimensional double-hook calligraphy created by the renowned Chinese artist Yong Kang.

It is also the first privately-owned museum in Guizhou Province.
