Daban Water Conservancy Scenic Area

The Daban Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

The Daban Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Zunyi City is located within Zunyi, Guizhou Province, in the Dalou Mountain Range. Built around the Daban Water National Forest Park, it is a soil and water conservation-type water conservancy scenic area, covering a planned area of 28.23 square kilometers.

The scenic area boasts lush vegetation, undulating mountains, and numerous peaks, with a variety of water features such as mountain streams, waterfalls, pools, springs, hot springs, reservoirs, and caves. It is rich in biodiversity, home to 18 nationally protected plant species including the yew, ginkgo, and fragrant fruit tree, as well as 21 nationally protected animal species such as the clouded leopard, rhesus monkey, civet, pangolin, white-necked long-tailed pheasant, and Lady Amherst's pheasant. The area falls within the mid-subtropical monsoon climate zone, characterized by plateau humid conditions, and presents diverse meteorological and phenological landscapes due to changes in altitude. The scenic area also contains rich cultural resources, including large temple complexes, ancient mountain fortress ruins, remnants of the Tusi system, relics from the Long March, and Miao ethnic culture.
