Slope Pasture

Slope Pasture Slope Pasture was established in December 1959, nestled between Niupeng Liangzi and Badanshan. It consists of three parts: Upper Pasture, Middle Pasture, and Lower Pasture, with the Middle Pasture being the most commonly visited. It is part of the Wumengshan National Geopark. This area is a representative example of typical plateau mountain landforms. The once-developed peneplain was uplifted by tectonic forces to form a plateau, but intense river downcutting largely destroyed it, leaving behind remnants of ancient planation surfaces that now form flat-topped mountain ridges. It lies at the border between Panxian and Shuicheng, in the high mountainous region of Panxian, with the highest elevation reaching 2,857 meters and general elevations mostly above 2,000 meters. Across the undulating mountains, there are over 100,000 acres of natural grasslands where thousands of cattle and sheep graze. With its majestic high mountains and vast green fields, it served as a “revolutionary melting pot” for the youth of Panxian during the “Down to the Countryside Movement” period.
