The 2013 (4th) China Footwear & Apparel Industry E-Commerce Summit, jointly organized by the People’s Government of Quanzhou City, the Quanzhou Economic and Trade Commission, Global Shoe Network, and the Quanzhou E-Commerce Association, will be grandly held on April 17 at Quanzhou Hotel in Quanzhou, Fujian Province.
Having been successfully held for three consecutive sessions, the summit—with its high profile and wide influence—has received strong support from relevant government departments and leaders in every edition. For this session, Zhang Zhinan, Executive Vice Governor of Fujian Province, and Huang Shaoping, Secretary of the Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee, have basically confirmed their attendance, highlighting the high level of attention given by provincial and municipal governments to the development of e-commerce in Fujian. After several years of explosive growth, Fujian’s e-commerce industry is maintaining stable growth and increasing its influence year by year. The e-commerce sector has not only become a new economic growth driver but also a powerful impetus for the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing industries. Data shows that there are currently over 70,000 online businesses in Quanzhou, with nearly 70% of footwear and apparel enterprises engaging in e-commerce, accounting for nearly 60% of online transaction volume.
In addition to strong interest from key provincial and municipal leaders, many industry leaders are also highly enthusiastic about the summit. Following the intense “price wars” of 2012 and the miracle of “Singles’ Day,” issues such as how open platforms will develop in the future and how to build an e-commerce ecosystem have sparked deeper thinking. Focusing on numerous hot topics, industry leaders such as Alibaba Group President Daniel Zhang (Xiaoyaozi), Dangdang.com CEO Li Guoqing, JD.com Senior Vice President Cheng Junyi, and Amazon China Vice President Ren Zhaoxin will gather at the main forum to discuss the future of e-commerce from perspectives such as big data, brand-platform synergy, and the future trends of open platforms. In addition, iResearch Consulting Group President Yang Weiqing will authoritatively release China’s first footwear online shopping industry research report at the main forum, interpreting future industry trends.
The main forum’s newly launched roundtable interaction segment—"Bull’s-Eye View on E-Commerce"—is the highest-level gathering of industry leaders’ insights. It has sparked heated discussion in the industry and achieved great feedback during the past two summits, serving as a major attraction for attendees. At this session, leaders including Zhou Shaohong, Chairman of Septwolves; Ding Shuibo, President of Xtep; Ding Shizhong, Chairman of Anta; and Wang Dongzhu, Chairman of Taoxie.com, will share insightful and practical viewpoints on how footwear and apparel brands can leverage e-commerce for brand reinvention and achieve industrial transformation and upgrading, guiding the path of traditional brands in e-commerce.
The China Footwear & Apparel Industry E-Commerce Summit, leveraging the advantages of local industrial clusters, actively strives to build a platform for e-commerce and brand exchanges, playing a positive role in promoting the application of e-commerce among Fujian’s footwear and apparel brands. The high level of attention and strong support from provincial and municipal government leaders as well as industry leaders also provides motivation and confidence for the organizing committee in their efforts to create an annual top-tier e-commerce summit for the footwear and apparel industry, helping boost Fujian’s e-commerce development.
