Shahe Karst Cave

Shahe Karst Cave, also known as Longtan Kou Karst Cave, is located in the northwest of Banashan Mountain, Zhonghe Village, Yuni Township. The cave stretches over 1,000 meters in length, with a total area of nearly 17,000 square meters. The cave consists of three levels: the upper cave, the middle cave, and the lower cave. The entrance is located in the middle cave, situated on a cliff about 3 meters above the ground. The entrance is approximately 10 square meters in size and petal-shaped. Once inside, there is a vast hall featuring massive stalagmites, stone bells, dragon-shaped stone pillars, and especially large terraced rimstone dams. These dams host white rimstone pools of varying sizes, with diameters of about 1 meter and widths of 0.5 meters, along with stone pillars of diverse heights, thicknesses, and shapes. The winding edge stones resemble dragons, creating an extraordinary and rare landscape both in China and abroad. A vertical shaft in the middle cave leads up to the upper cave, where countless stalactites and stone curtains of various sizes, lengths, and shapes hang from the ceiling. At the end of the middle cave, a small man-made tunnel on the left leads to the lower cave. Here, stalagmites and stalactites resemble pavilions, terraces, towers, and attics. Passing through a Dragon Pool that is over 60 meters long and more than 20 meters wide, visitors can admire stone pillars that are thick at the top and bottom but slender in the middle, standing tall like pillars reaching the sky. There is also a waterfall that gushes down from a crevice dozens of meters high, splashing into droplets and shrouded in mist, resembling a dragon palace.
