Huaga Tiankeng is located 10 kilometers from the steep cliffs on the northern side of the Liuche River Gorge, a tributary of the Beipan River. Commonly referred to as "Yangtian Mawo" or simply Tiankeng among locals, it is a super-giant collapsed sinkhole. The upper opening measures 960 × 520 meters, with a depth of over 260 meters. The upper surface area of the tiankeng reaches 354,900 square meters, ranking first in China and among the top in the world. A "tiankeng," scientifically known as a collapsed sinkhole, is a closed negative landform created when the roof of a massive cave collapses to the surface. Approximately 100 meters south of the tiankeng, beneath the steep cliffs, lies a large karst cave that serves as its drainage outlet.
