Tomb of General Long Tianyou

The Tomb of General Long Tianyou is located at Tielao Tianqiao in Baoji Township. Long Tianyou (1644–1690), an ethnic Yi, was a hereditary tusi (native chieftain). In the 18th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty, he pledged allegiance to the Qing court. For his meritorious service in suppressing Wu Sangui, he was granted the title of General. After his death, he was posthumously honored as Grand Master of Splendid Happiness and Left Commander-in-Chief, holding the official rank of First Class. The tomb covers an area of approximately 180 square meters, has a circular shape, and was built in the 30th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and is uniquely designed. Its main structure is a four-pillar, three-gate, double-eave memorial archway-style construction. The central ridge features a flat top eave. The tombstone is 3.6 meters in total height, 5 meters in width, and 1.9 meters in depth. The central inscription in regular script reads: “The Tomb of the Exalted Qing-Era Appointed Grand Master of Splendid Happiness, Left Commander-in-Chief, First-Class General, Pillar of the State, and Distinguished General Long.” The other four pillars all bear couplets, with carvings of flowers, plants, plum blossoms, and swastika patterns, all exquisitely crafted. The tomb, now over 300 years old, remains well-preserved and holds great value for both sightseeing and research.
