The Panxian Dala Xiangu Valley Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Panxian Dala Xiangu Valley Scenic Area (referred to as Dala Xiangu) is located in the beautiful and climatically pleasant Liupanshui, Panxian County, the “Cool City” of Guizhou. It is one of the 100 key high-efficiency agricultural parks and 100 key tourist attractions that Guizhou Province is focusing on developing. It is also one of the only a few “dual-hundred parks” in the province and the first such park in Liupanshui City. In 2014, the park was awarded the title of “2014 China’s Beautiful Countryside” and was selected as a National Demonstration Site for Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism, as well as one of the Top Ten Agricultural Tourism Attractions in Guizhou Province.

Panxian is the largest coal industry base in Guizhou Province. However, the location of the company—Huashi Township along the reservoir area and Yanjiao Village’s dam—has no coal resources. Local residents have traditionally relied on agriculture, thus preserving relatively intact primitive landforms. Dala Xiangu is a characteristic agricultural demonstration park and leisure agriculture area in the karst mountainous region, vigorously developed by the county government. The total planned area is 72,000 mu, including a core area of 12,000 mu, with 8,000 mu of land already transferred. The planning is divided into four major sections: the industrial agriculture section provides ecological agricultural products for farm-to-supermarket connections; the sightseeing agriculture section plants colorful flowers that contrast sharply with the monotonous black of the local coal resources; the leisure tourism and health vacation section offers distinctive leisure and wellness tourism service products, aiming to create an international tourism and vacation destination.
