Former Wangdi Buddhist Temple

The Former Wangdi Buddhist Temple is a cultural heritage site protected at the county level in Fenxi County.

The Former Wangdi Buddhist Temple is located in Former Wangdi Village, Duizhu Town, Fenxi County. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

The temple faces west and covers an area of 887.6 square meters. It features a single-courtyard layout with a central axis that includes a stage and the main hall, flanked by southern and northern side halls. The temple gate is situated in the southeastern part of the courtyard. The main hall has two levels: the lower level consists of five brick cave rooms, and the upper level has one brick cave room. Both the southern and northern side halls have two levels, with three brick cave rooms on the lower level.

The Former Wangdi Buddhist Temple is a county-level cultural heritage protection site.

Protection zone: The boundary is defined by the outer walls of the heritage structure itself, extending 25 meters northward, 50 meters eastward, 5 meters southward to the edge of the road, and 40 meters westward. The zone spans approximately 73 meters from north to south and 123 meters from east to west, covering an area of 9,189 square meters. Construction control zone: (Due to the close proximity to the former site of the Heimou Hall in Former Wangdi and the former site of the Former Wangdi Fortress, these are designated together.) The boundary is defined by the outer walls of the heritage structure itself, extending eastward, southward, and northward to the edges of the adjacent roads, and 15 meters westward. The zone spans approximately 56 meters from north to south and 63 meters from east to west, covering an area of 3,246 square meters.

Duizhu Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Fenxi County. Established as the Duizhu People's Commune in 1958 and upgraded to a town in 1984. It is located in the northwest part of the county, about 25 kilometers from the county seat. The town covers an area of 52 square kilometers and has a population of 7,000.
