Shenfu Zhenwu Temple

Shenfu Zhenwu Temple is a cultural heritage site protected at the county level in Fenxi County.

Shenfu Zhenwu Temple is located in Shenfu Village, Yong'an Town, Fenxi County. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

The site covers an area of 888.75 square meters. It faces south and features a single-courtyard quadrangle layout. Along the central axis are a theater stage and the main hall, with east and west side halls (one brick cave each) and east and west wing rooms on both sides; the mountain gate is situated in the southeast corner of the courtyard. The main hall’s first floor consists of three brick caves, while the second floor is a wooden structure with a three-bay width and a flush gable roof (also known as the Jade Emperor Tower). The theater stage has a three-bay width, and the east and west wing rooms are both two-story structures, with the first floor consisting of three brick caves and the second floor featuring five bays in width.

Shenfu Zhenwu Temple is a county-level cultural heritage protection unit.

Protected area: (Due to its proximity to the Shenfu Battle Site and the Shenfu Ren Family Residence, these areas are combined into one protected zone.) The boundary is defined by the cultural relics of the Shenfu Battle Site, extending 100 meters east and north, 104 meters south, and to the centerline of the road. The boundary for the Shenfu Zhenwu Temple itself is defined by the outer wall of the main structure, extending 45 meters west, approximately 397 meters north-south, and approximately 550 meters east-west, covering an area of 199,193 square meters. The construction control zone extends 200 meters outward from the protected area boundaries in all directions—east, south, west, and north—spanning approximately 792 meters north-south and 1,053 meters east-west, covering an area of 736,407 square meters.
