Temple Gully Cliff Carvings

The Temple Gully Cliff Carvings are a cultural relic protection unit of Fenxi County.

The Temple Gully Cliff Carvings are located in Temple Gully Village, Xingjiayao Township, Fenxi County. Dating back to the first year of the Yuandade era (1297), they fall under the category of stone carvings and other artifacts.

Made of sandstone, they measure 0.45 meters in width (east-west) and 0.7 meters in height, covering an area of 0.4 square meters. In the center is carved the Chinese character "佛" (Buddha), beneath which is a lotus flower; on the left is an ingot, and on the right is a copper coin. There are also inscriptions such as "Yuandade First Year" and "Treasure in Stone."

The Temple Gully Cliff Carvings are a county-level cultural relic protection unit.

Protected Area: The boundary is defined by the base of the artifact itself, extending 100 meters outward to the east, west, south, and north. It stretches approximately 200 meters from north to south and 200 meters from east to west, covering an area of 40,283 square meters. Construction Control Zone: (Due to the close proximity to the Shitou Site, Xingjiayao Site, and Temple Gully Site) the boundary is set by the protected areas of the Shitou Site and three other sites, as well as the protected area of the Yuan Dynasty cliff carvings in Temple Gully. It extends 200 meters northward, 200 meters eastward to the center of a small path, and 250 meters southward to the northern edge of a road, along with the protected area boundaries of the three aforementioned sites. It also extends 200 meters westward, spanning approximately 2,000 meters from north to south and 1,600 meters from east to west, covering an area of 3,331,330 square meters.
